Community Planning

Community Planning is a process which helps public agencies work together with the broader community to plan and deliver better  programs and policies that collectively lead to healthier, more dynamic and more sustainable communities. At EPI, we think of communities in both geographic terms – from small neighbourhoods to cities – and in social terms – communities of interest, gender, age, etc. The aim of our planning work is to make sure people and communities are genuinely engaged in the decisions that affect their daily lives, to achieve real, tangible, positive results for the community in question and to improve the connection between national priorities and those at regional, local and neighbourhood levels.

EPI’s community planning services include:

- Integrated site planning
- Comprehensive community planning
- Strategy development
- First Nations and Métis planning
- Community economic development
- Sustainable community energy planning
- Public engagement
